The Sacred Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is one of the most popular excursions in the world. This trail shows the magnificent mountains, exotic vegetation and varied of the microclimates we have in this area, the extraordinary ecological variety in terms of Flora and Fauna.
The trail goes through mountains where we can appreciate more than 250 species of orchids that have been counted in the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, as well as numerous species of birds, reptiles, including some endangered species.
Machu Picchu fits within the spectacular framework provided by the exuberant vegetation of the nearby jungle and the rugged landscape.
The Inca Trail is only a small part of the Inca trail system that integrated the four regions of the Tawantinsuyo Empire.
Note: the degrees of difficulty vary from 1 to 10, where 1 is easy crossing and 10 very difficult crossing
At 05 am, we will pick you up from the Hotel to go to the train station and board the expedition train, until the km 104, where the Inca Trail starts for 2 days and 1 night, the guide will be waiting for you, once we reach Km 104 – Chachabamba, we will make a small visit to this archaeological center (2250 m). The tour continues to climb up to Wiñayhuayna, (Forever Young), where we will enjoy lunch and then visit this important place, for some it was the old house of the priests of Machu Picchu. On the way, we will observe fantastic landscapes of the Urubamba River. We will make a small visit in Machu Picchu to take some pictures; at the end of the afternoon we will descend to the town of Aguas Calientes where we will enjoy an overnight dinner.
After a good breakfast in our hotel, we will have a walk of 2 hours approximately. From the town of Aguas Calientes to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, the other option is to go up and down by bus in a 30 minute ride, once we arrive at Machu Picchu, we will have a guided tour to the main places; the temple of Las Tres Windows, the Inti Huatana and other places, the tour in Machu Picchu with the guide takes approximately 2 to 2 and 30 minutes. Then we will have free time to continue exploring and take pictures. At the indicated time we will go down to Aguas Calientes where we will have to board the train to the Ollantaytambo train station and then the bus to Cusco.
