Machu Picchu in Quechua, “Montaña Vieja” is the name of the ancient Andean-Inca town located in the Cordillera of southern Peru.

It is located in the region of Cusco, Province of Urubamba, District of Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu would also have been considered one of Pachacútec’s rest and rest homes.
