Choquequirao (in Quechua chuquik’iraw “Golden cradle”) for more than 40 years known as the last stronghold of resistance of the Incas against Spanish rule, it is also known as the sister of the Inca empire, we refer to “Machu Picchu”, there, you will be able to appreciate the stone walls that surround this ancient religious, political and social center of the great Inca Empire, it will make you feel a sensation of being the first explorers to arrive until choquequirao.

Choquequirao is composed of nine very important sectors, among which the political and religious center still stands out with its system of fountains and channels; it creates aqueducts to transport water to the entire sector. These sectors, such as terraces, are terraces where they worshiped the lama animal.

It is necessary to highlight the religious, administrative character of the Choquequirao complex. The architecture is distributed around its central square and is completed by the agricultural platforms system, which supported the citadel. The archaeological remains of Choquequirao are distributed in the descending part of Choquequirao Mountain and are grouped as small neighborhoods, slightly separated from each others.
