The Sacred Valley of the Incas is located between the towns of Písac and Ollantaytambo, parallel to the Vilcanota River.

In the sacred valley, we will enjoy a rural and an experiential tourism which will amaze us because they are composed in an unprecedented way to you know the most traditional regions of the South American Andes.

Our tour is 1 full day; this tour will take you to the most famous and popular places in the Sacred Valley, starting with the pick-up at your hotel and heading to the famous city of Pisac.

Tour itinerary:

Day 1: Cusco – Sacred Valley – Cusco

The tour of the sacred valley is highly recommended to acclimatize to the height of Cusco and its surroundings, it starts at 08:30 with the pick-up from the hotel to then we head towards the sacred valley.

This tour lasts approximately 9 hours it starts at 09:00 a.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m.The tour through the sacred valley will allow us to visit different towns that make it up including Pisac, Calca, Yucay, Urubamba, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero, Maras and Moray.

As we move through these villages within the sacred valley, we can appreciate temples, forts, platforms and aqueducts, turning the sacred valley into an incredible landscape.

PISAC

Our adventure begins moving from the city of Cusco to the town of Pisac approximately 32 kilometers from Cusco, located in the form of platforms on the hill Intihuatana; those platforms can be seen through windows of the car.

Pisac is the ideal place to understand how the system of platforms of culture of the Inca population worked.

Pisac is also known for its famous handicraft market that can be visited twice a week in the central square of the same town where you will be able to get Qeros (ceremonial vessels) and textile art with alpaca and vicuña garments.

Upon entering the Archaeological Park of Pisac you can visit the ruins of fortresses, its towers and an Inca cemetery.

We will take some time to visit the archaeological park, so you can move all over the place until the guide calls up us again to go to our transport and move to Urubamba.

URUBAMBA

In our transfer to Urubamba, we have lunch to recover energy and enjoy the cuisine in the sacred valley.

Urubamba is also known as the ancient Inca town located in a fertile area of crops becoming an agricultural producing center with great production of fruit trees all around.

Urubamba is also known as the “Archaeological Capital of Peru”, due to the abundance of Inca archaeological sites that exist in that area; It is also called the “Pearl of the Vilcanota”, for its incomparable landscapes that surround it, becoming unique and natural sceneries of indescribable beauty.

Our guide at all times will assist you by giving you the necessary instructions to enjoy your lunch in peace.

After lunch, our guide will indicate that we should move to the ruins of ollantaytambo.

OLLANTAYTAMBO

Ollantaytambo is a historical place known mainly as “the fortress of the gods” it is one of the tourist attractions known as a ceremonial center for the Incas and a checkpoint for those who passed through the Sacred Valley, thanks to its strategic location for the defense of the area.

In the highest peak of this archaeological complex, there are 6 monoliths of a surprising size located with an incredible precision, which has engraved Inca iconographies.

Currently, in the town center, there are houses built on the foundations of ancient Inca constructions, where they still maintain the ancestral customs left by the Incas.

CHINCHERO

Back to the imperial city of Cusco we will visit the very picturesque town of Chinchero, where the royal treasury of Túpac Inca Yupanqui is located.

Chinchero is a small town with a great history and culture, which is still alive today among its inhabitants, preserving the essence of the Incas art and textile. On Sundays, in the market in the main square of Chichero, we can see how the settlers sell their handmade products wearing the typical costumes of the town.

At Chinchero, you can admire a very well preserved Inca wall in the main square, as well as visit the beautiful colonial temple, built on the foundations of an Inca building.

When arriving at this point our tour is put with the light of night, after visiting chinchero and its surroundings we will move back to the imperial city of Cusco.
